Jan Kriel School offers residential facilities to learners in the Western Cape who do not live in the proximity of another ELSEN school and who are not able to make use of our daily commuting service.
Each residence functions under the control of a guardian. Twenty four hour supervision is managed by hostel staff and educators.
Residents have a central self-service dining hall at their disposal.
The boys are housed in different residences according to age.
There is one residence for girls.
The admission of learners younger than ten years of age is not encouraged.
There are two study sessions per day. Younger learners are assisted by educators who will help where needed and supervise the completion of homework.
Learners go home over weekends, or go to family or friends, whit required permission from their parents of guardian.
Washing may be done at a private laundry on the premises.
Contact the psychologists, or Ms H Faasen, for enquiries.
Fees
Annually per learner: R12 100
Monthly January - October: R1 210
Accessibility
All the hostels are accessible to accommodate the needs of the physically disabled learners. The bathrooms are adapted and supplied with seated showers to enable these learners to complete their ablutions independently and at the same time ease the task of the staff.
